1. What is Backgammon?

This game is played on a standard board and is characterized by a fast-paced strategy. Each player has a set of 15 checkers each. One has light color while the other one has dark color. The movement of the game is generated by throwing two dice.

Tournaments are formal competitions where players compete with one another. Players normally play a series of games until all are eliminated and only one winner will be declared.

3. What is Head-to-Head Tournament?

This type of game is played one-one-one by players. There is no limit specified when it comes to the amount of bets. The one who gets the highest points will be the winner of the game.

4. How do players begin the game?

Both players will throw a die, and anyone who got the highest number will roll first. However, if both players got the same number after rolling the die both will repeat the procedure.

5. What makes up a valid roll?

Formal games of backgammon require players to have their own set of dice and a dice cup. A valid roll is a throw of the dice to the playing surface. If a die come to rest on a non-playing surface it will be considered to be a "cocked" and the procedure of rolling will repeat for both dice.

6. What is the movement of the checkers?

Checkers movement should be forward and not backwards. Two dice will be thrown to know the number of moves the checker will make. You can move two checkers at one roll or you can sum up the number on both dice.

7. What will happen if you land on your opponent's side?

The opposing checker that landed on your opponent's side is called a blot. If your checker was hit, it will be captured and placed on the bar. Your checker will remain on the bar until you roll the required number for re-entry.

8. How do players win the game?

Backgammon is a kind of game that always has a winner and a loser; there is never a draw. The player who gets to bear off all his or her checkers from the board will have the highest point; therefore will be declared as the winner.
